Ron Anderson
Ron Anderson, of International Falls MN, 81, son of Clifford and Thelma Anderson, passed away peacefully alongside his family on Tuesday, August 23rd after an 18 year fight with cancer. Celebration of Life will be held between 4-7pm on Tuesday, Aug 30th at the Elks Lodge in downtown International Falls, MN. Ronald Lee Anderson was born July 14th, 1941 to parents Clifford and Thelma Anderson in Duluth MN. He spent his childhood growing up on the family farm in Fourtown, MN. During those formidable years on the farm with his siblings, is where work ethic, strength, and Norwegian Resilience was established and this character and integrity is what we know and love about Ron.
Ron moved to International Falls in 1961. Upon arriving he started working at Holiday Gas Station, but quickly moved to work at Insulite and then finally to Boise Cascade where he was a Beater Engineer and after almost 30 years retired from Boise and focused on other hobbies and loving his family. Not one to shy away from work, he developed Meadow View just West of I Falls, building numerous homes for others and himself. Loving carpentry and woodworking, Ron enjoyed spending time building cabinets, furniture, homes and specialty items for family and friends in “The Shop”.
Those who knew Ron would agree, even though he was horrible at “catching”, his favorite hobby was fishing for Walleye. Ron’s smile, laugh, wisdom, love, and knowledge has been felt by many people and will be missed. His influence, desire to teach, and to help others in anyway is the Legacy that will impact others for generations.
Ron is survived by 3 siblings, sister Donna Rocha, brothers Garold (Tom) and Gene Anderson. 3 Children, Lynae Anderson and 2 sons LaVern Anderson and Richard Anderson (Wendy) and Grandchildren, Chris Manka (Lisa), Matt Manka, Danial Anderson (Hayley), Jordan Holsinger (Kendall), Alexis Anderson, Angelina Scholler (Ryan), Joshua Anderson. Great Grandchildren, Brianna, Christian, Colton, Cooper, Emery, Katherine, Opal, and soon to come Hazel June.
