Teams competing in the 2026 International Falls Bass Championship left the Pat Roche Memorial Access on Rainy River head east for Rainy Lake this morning on Day 1 of the 2-day catch and release tournament. They return in time for the 4 p.m. weigh-ins at Smokey Bear Park in International Falls.

The boat parade is a popular event that helps kick off the International Falls Bass Championship. Thursday’s parade drew many to downtown and Smokey Bear Park where events continue today and Saturday.

DNR to auction confiscated gear
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has scheduled two public auctions for confiscated fishing, hunting and trapping equipment. The auctions, which will be held online Aug. 31 and Sept. 28, include equipment that was confiscated following serious game and fish violations.

Work has officially begun on the next edition of the International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Area Resource Guide, and all local businesses and organizations are invited to be part of it.

Anglers Gage Wallander and Austin Schneider of the International Falls Bronco Bass Team toss candy from their boat during Thursday’s parade. Since 2023, the IFBC reserves Team 60 for the Bronco Bass Fishing Team’s Angler of the Year, Wallander for a second year, and second place finisher.
