Tuesday The Rainy River baseball played a pair of games in Lacrosse, Wis., Monday against Western Tech. In Game 1, the Voyageurs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second but Western scored one in the bottom of the second and 2 in the 5th to edge Rainy 3-2.
Borderland Mustang Wrestling Head Coach Jeremy Mann reports that having kids take advantage of all the extra open mats is making a huge difference. He said it gives them the opportunity to work out every day.
The Rainy River Community College Voyageur softball season is officially underway. The Voyageurs are currently 3-5 and in first place in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Northern Division.
Chapter 5 There was a law in Canada that you couldn’t keep venison past March, even canned venison; according to Floyd the government figured that you were shooting deer and canning it out of season. The result was that the rural folks raised such a ruckus that they changed the law and in any case the Mounties wouldn’t have known when it was canned because they just backdated the labels.
“Belle” is a female mix breed. She came in as a stray and never claimed. She is a sweetheart and walk good on a leash. Belle is brown and white and weighs 56 pounds. Derek Michael Andersen, 45, of Grand Forks, died tragically on March 26, 2022 due to a fire at his residence. He was born in Virginia, Minnesota on February 26, 1977 to Michael and Debbie (Smolich) Andersen and was raised in International Falls.
