A local man undergoing six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatment for brain cancer will get some help with a benefit. Jacob Marty, 33, was recently diagnosed with astrocytoma glioma stage III, a type of brain cancer, reports his aunt, Kristi Kennedy.
While Sunday was the first day of spring it does not seem likely we will be out in our gardens soon in the Bemidji area. John Frederickson celebrated his 87th birthday on March 11 with a luncheon including family and friends at Good Samaritan Society – International Falls. Chapter 4 Floyd’s dad, Orrah, related a story about the time he borrowed a bear trap from his dad in the late 1920’s; the value even then, according to what Orrah told Floyd, was estimated to be $500. He set the trap and it had a big ring on it; he bent the knots on the toggle down and slipped the ring over it.
Andrea Zupancich, Babbitt, will run for State Senate District 3, she announced this week. Zupancich has been the mayor of Babbitt since 2014 and ran unopposed in 2020.
Friday, March 25 15 years ago Community News and Calendar: Summer’s almost here - the theme for the International Falls Figure Skating Club’s 32nd Annual Ice Show is “Sweet Summertime.” They will skate in Bronco Arena for performances on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon...
