RRCC baseball on the road

Rainy River Community College’s freshman pitcher Juan Alcoverde earned the Minnesota College Athletic Conference’s baseball athlete-of-the-week for March 28 - April 3. Alcoverde earned two wins, tossing 14 innings and only giving up 5 runs and striking out 17 last week.

Falls men compete

Two local men recently competed in the Grappling Industries Minnesota martial arts competition. Ryan Stenson, 23, and Keith Magler, 24, both of International Falls, competed in the Grappling Industries Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission-wrestling tournament in Hopkin March 26.
