Steps for now, and for later

I am writing this on March 28, 2022 pending another snow storm in two days in Bemidji and area. However, much of my garden is now exposed and I am visualizing some changes and the work that faces me to get my gardens in order after a VERY LONG WINTER!

Birchdale, or the end of the rainbow as Capt. Mike Hanson calls it, has some extra folks now, as Rainy River is again accessible for the early walleye and catch-and-release lake sturgeon seasons. If you plan to fish from Nelson’s Landing, be prepared for a walk, or as some have done, a bike ride, from your parked vehicle and the landing. City airport annexation proposition opposed

A proposal to annex the Falls International Airport property by the city of International Falls has received opposition from adjacent property owners. Steve Earley and Bob Ewald, adjacent landowners, voiced concern in late March about the city’s proposal at the Koochiching County Board and the International Falls-Koochiching County Airport Commission, the Falls International Airport’s joint powers governing board.
