To the editor, The latest blow to northeastern Minnesota (Twin Metals) should come as no surprise. It’s the most recent in a string of decisions by metro elites to strangle and starve out economic success for northeastern Minnesota’s people.
The Rainy River baseball team played Northland in a doubleheader in Eveleth Monday. In Game 1, the Voyageurs trailed 6-2 going to the bottom of the 6th. Rainy responded with 4 runs to tie the game at 6. Northland scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th before the Voyageurs answered back with 3 of their own to force extra innings tied at 9.
After a three-year hiatus, dancers returned to the stage of Backus Community Center over the weekend. Dancers in the 24th annual Dancin’ with Darcie recital themed “Let’s Go To The Movies Take 2,” performed ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, toe and hip hop numbers.
