Saddle club finishes season

Mastin recognized with commendation

The International Falls City Council Monday acknowledged with a standing ovation and round of applause a letter of commendation presented to Police Investigator Joshua Mastin. Police Chief Mike Kostiuk told the council the commendation was in recognition of Mastin’s efforts in a recent narcotics investigation, when 10 pounds of methamphetamine and three firearms were seized.

Council moves on water plant bonds

International Falls moved forward Monday with the sale of $772,000 of temporary general obligation water bonds to pay for rehabilitation of the water treatment plant. Mike Bubany, David Brown Associates, Inc., discussed the bond issues and sale with the council Monday, and explained the process of applying for a loan from the Minnesota Rural Water Association to pay engineering costs for the rehabilitation project.
