International Falls Broncos Monday found success on the diamond.The softball team traveled to Mountain Iron-Buhl where they would win that game 4-1.The softball team took a 22-0 win Thursday, April 11, with the mercy-rule in the fourth inning, against the Bears at Lake of the Woods High School.The team dominated in batting and fielding, and Gracie Swenson and Laney Taylor shined on both sides of the field as Swenson threw 7 strikeouts on the mounds and had 2 runs and 6 RBIs off 3 hits.Taylor would catch 2 fly-outs and have 2 runs and 3 RBIs off 2 hits.On Monday, the Bronco baseball team played in the home opener against North Woods beating the Grizzlies 7-2.Compiled by KGHS/KSDM Radio.

Park will have a bandshell

The International Falls City Council is awaiting information from its insurance provider before making decisions about the Irving “Pete” Peterson Bandshell that was destroyed in a fire April 7.But councilors voiced support to have a bandshell in Smokey Bear Park on the site, whether it is a rebuild or a new structure.
