We regretfully announce the passing of Gloria Demuth, 83, of International Falls, Minnesota, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 after a short illness, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN.
Gloria, a loving and dedicated mother to a family of eight children, was brought into this world on January 23, 1939, to Andrew and Rose Barg.
After graduating Littlefork High School, she met and fell in love with James Demuth. They were married on June 22, 1957. They moved to Oregon for two years, then returned to International Falls.
Gloria was a stay at home mother, always there for her children.
She loved to spend time at the family cabin in Washkish, reading books or fishing. She spent every summer tending to her large garden. She always had an open door for holiday family gatherings, making her cabbage rolls and her signature gum drop cake for Christmas. She was always in pursuit of knowledge by reading her favorite books, magazines, or watching news on tv. Gloria also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.
We will miss her love, nurturing, and guidance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Andrew and Rose Barg; sisters, Jeanette Barg, Gladys Wimmer; brother, Dan Barg; brother-in-law, Butch Nelson, Ron Demuth; sisters-in-law, Rita (Don) Demuth, and Vivian (Don) Demuth.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Frank (Sue) Demuth, John (Erikka) Demuth, Mike (Ruth) Demuth, Billy Demuth, Shaun Demuth; daughters, Diana (Kurt) Miller, Donna Reinson, Cathy (David) Inkster; grandchildren, Austin (Jessica) Reinson, Jesse Inkster, Alexis Demuth, Christian Demuth, Jacob (Emma) Demuth, Samuel Demuth, Daniel Demuth, Allan (Jorja) Demuth, Michael (Taylor) Demuth, Larry Demuth, Montana Demuth, Victoria Demuth; great-grandchildren, Paityn, Easton, and Lincoln Demuth, Isis Inkster, Leo and Brooks Demuth; brothers, Lloyd (Donna) Barg, Andrew Barg Jr.; sisters, Arlene (Dale) Peterson, Sharon Nelson, Janice Schmitz; special nieces and nephew, Theresa, Karen, and Chris.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
