May 17, 1942 August 28, 2022 Mary Magdalene Skogstad, 80, of International Falls, died Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls. Mary was born on May 17, 1942, in Warroad, MN the daughter of David and Florence (O’Donnell) Lewis. She grew up in Warroad where she received her education, graduating from Warroad High School.

Mary was united in marriage to Rodney Skogstad. This union was blessed with two sons and a daughter. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and also worked as a switchboard operator. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, cooking, restoring antique furniture, and helping her family and friends. Mary cherished the time she spent with her family at the shack at Randeen Ridge and loved all the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodney; son, Dean; and companion dog, Rags.

Mary is survived by her children, Roger (Karen) Skogstad, and Melissa (Tom) Holt; grandchildren, Jesse Skogstad, Levi Skogstad, Dylan Holt, and McKenna Holt; and her brothers, James (Audrey) Lewis, and William (Sherry) Lewis.

Per Mary’s request no funeral services will be held. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
