Marlene Rose Erickson

Marlene Rose Erickson, 89, a resident of the Littlefork Care Center, died on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Rainy Lake Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 13, 1933 at International Falls, MN to parents, Anshelm and Vivian Borg. She graduated from Falls High School in 1951.

The former Marlene Borg was united in marriage to the love of her life, Albert “Swede” Erickson on May 23, 1953. They were happily married for 57 years. The love for life they each had was amazing.

Marlene always presented herself in the most proper and fashionable way. She had a love for clothes. Her voice was beautiful and she often sang in the church choir. She loved to read, cross stitch, play cards and travel; she made the journey to Juneau, Alaska over 30 times. She also loved spending time at their cabin up by the Brule Narrows on Rainy Lake. She retired as a U.S. Customs Clerk in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anshelm and Vivian Borg; husband, Albert Erickson; sisters, LeaEtta Jackson and Zetta Lea Borg; mother-in-law, Bertha Grover and grandson, Paul Whitehead.

Survivors include her sons, Dale (Jean) Erickson and Jim Killeen (MunChin Killeen) Erickson; daughters, Tami (Harry) Geving and Susan (Don Gulliksen) Erickson; five grandchildren, Eric Milender, Aaron (Amanda Story) Milender, Lukas Erickson, Emily Erickson and Derek Zunker; six greatgrandchildren, Avery Albert, Eddison Hank, Sawyer Ray, HuxLee James, Lilah Rose, Alyssa Delane; her sister, Iverne Kuryla and by many loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Int’l Falls at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
