Kathleen (Kathy) Mary Breneman

Kathleen (Kathy) Mary Breneman of Ray, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Rainy Lake Medical Center, with her loving husband at her side, surrounded by close family. Kathy was born to Fred and Rose (Braun) Hauck on July 9, 1946 in Beulah, North Dakota. She married William Gardner on December of 28, 1965 and soon after he tragically lost his life due to a work accident in 1972. Kathy and her daughters lived in North Dakota until they moved to International Falls in 1977. On September 9, 1989 she was united in marriage to Bloyd Breneman of Ray, Minnesota.

Moving to Minnesota was a big change for her. Kathy began working for her sister in Dick’s Liquor Store where it was the perfect fit to allow her beautiful smile and personality to greet and get to know people. She made a lot of friends and friendships that lasted her lifetime along with friends that she has remained close to since early school years.

She was a very outgoing soul to everyone and you knew you were always welcome at their home any day and any time. You could always be assured that you would have something to eat at their home because she could not stand to think someone might be hungry. Kathy worked several other places as well but she always had a smile to greet you, knew you by name and was happy to see you no matter her place of work. Her true love though was to stay at home and work on the farm. She did and tried everything from driving tractors (especially her Little A), a school bus, mowing lawn (which was her favorite), canning, cooking, baking, and the list could go on but I’m sure you all see my point. She enjoyed every minute of everything she did. Most of all, she loved helping Bloyd in any way she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rose and Fred Hauck, her first husband William Gardner, her brother Wilfred Hauck and sisters Cleo Mettler, Anna Goldade, Lorraine Pischel and Josie Ziegler.

Kathy is survived by her husband Bloyd Breneman, her daughters Tammy (Karvin) Tilander, Debbie (Khalid) Shaikh, four grandchildren Christopher Tilander, Aaron Tilander, Aamir Shaikh, Aisha Shaikh, step-son Dean Breneman, step-daughters Julie (Russell) Helgeson, Becky (Shad) Murray, stepgrandchildren Cody Erickson, Dustin Helgeson, Wyatt (Talitha) Helgeson, Sabrina Murray, step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and special lifelong friend, Connie “Jill” Johnson.
