With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Deanna Halverson, 81, of Naples, Florida. She passed away on November 23, 2022 after a difficult battle with COPD.
Deanna was born on July 13, 1941 to Mike and Gertrude Melnychuk in Bjorkd ale, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was one of 10 children. After completing school, she moved to Minnesota. In 1960, she married Wendell Halverson, and they went on to have 2 children, Michael Wayne and Michelle Ann. In her early career, she owned a successful beauty salon in International Falls, Minnesota. In 1979, she and her family moved to Florida and began a new adventure. It was there that she found her love of sales and marketing and she was very good at it. After all she did have the gift of gab! This career brought her to many places including Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 1993. She gained many wonderful lifelong friendships during her time in the Smoky Mountains. Eventually in 2006, she moved back to Florida to be with her grandchildren.
After retirement, Deanna spent all of her time with her grandchildren. She loved her family dearly. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she would brag about them to anyone who would listen. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, colleague and friend and touched the lives of so many. She was loving, compassionate, and understanding and one of the most beautiful souls one could ever meet. To say she will be missed greatly is an understatement.
Deanna was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Gertrude, her husband, Wendell, her son, Michael Wayne, her brother, Clarence, her infant sister, Nellie and her special friend, Fred Rainey. She is survived by Michelle (Tony), her grandchildren, Nickolas, Zackary, and Khloe Kamen, her step-grandchildren, Kristen and Erika Kamen, and so many wonderful life-long friends and family members who she adored.
