Alexander David Dugas-Gushulak

“Alex” was born on September 22, 1994, in International Falls, Minnesota to Chad Gushulak and Kathryn Dugas Erickson. Alex moved to Lindstrom, MN with his mom, Kathryn and stepdad, Todd while attending the Chisago Lakes school district. He was active in football, student council, snowboarding and enjoyed his friends immensely.

Eventually, his brother, Kale and sister, Victoria came along and the love between them all was palpable. Alex continued to spend a great deal of time in Int’l Falls during the summers with his dad and both sets of grandparents, Leo and Anita Dugas and Melvin and Debbie Gushulak. They were exceptionally close, loved him dearly and cannot comprehend the notion of not hugging him daily.

Rainy Lake, fishing and his dads and grandpa’s shack were things that he did not take for granted and enjoyed with all his heart.

Alex was also exceptionally close to all of his cousins and Aunts and Uncles who are absolutely devastated by this loss. The friends he made in Int’l Falls were many and this will be a long road to healing.

There is truly no end to the number of people Alex has touched. His kindness, sincerity, humor, loyalty is just a few of the qualities he possessed. Alex was not just beautiful on the outside, but his humble kindness came across to all that knew him.

We are at a loss for words and cannot accurately describe the sense of loss for so many.

We will celebrate his life on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 at the Ranier Community Building from 1-5 pm. There is no one more deserving to have his life celebrated.
