Vikings fight hard, but drop to North Woods

In a hard-fought game, the Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings football team lost a heart breaker Friday in the homecoming game against the North Woods Grizzlies, 24-16North Woods shed first blood after a 2 yard run by QB Louie Panichi and a two point convert run by Nick Abramson with six minutes left in the first quarter.

Broncos remain undefeated

The Broncos football team Friday kept its undefeated streak alive, dominating the Titans 35-14 and getting their first 4-0 start since 2005.Bronco Cooper Crandall had a strong start in the first half with 10 carries for 114 yards, but his one touchdown would be on a punt return that he caught and ran 74 yards to the end zone.Crandall suffered an ankle injury toward the end of quarter 2 that took him out for the rest of the game as the Broncos finished the first half up 28-14.Hayden Swenson took charge on offense throwing 18/23 for 217 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Bronco swim, dive

Last Saturday, the Bronco pool hosted the Junior High Shiverland Invitational with the Broncos finishing fourth overall with many personal bests.The team found success in the relays as the team of Kayla Dowty, Mckenna Whelchel, Mackenzie Minnick, and Elley Silvers won the 200 Medley with a 2:18.29.In the 200 Freestyle Relay the team of Mackenzie Minnick, Mckenna Whelchel, Elley Silvers, and Kayla Dowty placed second with a 2:05.40.Avery Dowty placed third in the seventh grade 50 Freestyle with a 33.43 and placed fourth in the seveth Grade 100 Freestyle with a 1:17.51.
