Faith, family injured in Vietnam bus crash

Jeremy, Anne and children Annilese, 6, and Victor, 4, were involved in a bus, car and truck accident on Saturday, June 22, on their way to an airport with some of Anne’s brothers and sisters and their families taking a side trip to Saigon, Vietnam, on their trip to meet Grandpa, Anne’s father.There was a broken femur and other leg and knee injuries; mouth, facial, teeth and neck damage; a punctured lung; broken and bruised ribs; and multiple scratches, bumps and minor bruises among the injuries, but there were no fatalities, with the possible exception of the car’s driver, whose vehicle was sandwiched between the bus and truck.Jeremy will be returning to the United Staes in mid-July, but the other family members must remain under doctor’s care until late August or early September.There is a GoFundMe page set up at https://www.gofundme.com/f/faith-family-accident-in-vietnam.Look for an x-ray of Victor’s broken femur.

Passing the Peace Torch

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, history’s largest peace torch relay, will be in International Falls on Friday, July 19 in the early morning.The Peace Run will cover 76 miles on the 19th running from Big Falls to Bemidji on U.S.

Coach moves on

Bill Engel, who had been at Minnesota North College-Rainy River since 2015, has named the men’s basketball coach and interim athletic director for Eastern Wyoming College on Thursday.Engel, the head men’s basketball coach at Minnesota North College - Rainy River, has been named MCAC North Coach-of-the-Year for the second year in a row.The Minnesota North Rainy River Voyageurs this year earned its first ever national tournament berth March 10 by defeating Riverland College in the Region XIII championship.
