State resultsBronco Kelby Anderson tied for second – just one stroke behind first place – at the 2024 Minnesota High School State Golf Championships last week.Kelby finished with a 115.She is now in Scotland to compete as a member of a USA Junior Team playing in six junior tournaments over the course of 8 days.

Mother, daughter duo offer clothing options

A mother and daughter have teamed up to offer clothing for all sizes in International Falls.Lisa Reimer and Sierra Geerken are owners of Northern Cactus Boutique, a clothing and accessory retail store, at 1322 Third St., International Falls.The Northern Cactus carries children’s and women’s clothing and accessories, as well as some men’s accessories.They have been offering products online for a little more than a year now, and just opened the store front June 14.

Pride march focus on inclusion

Speakers at the Borderland Pride March Saturday focused on the need to welcome all to the sister communities on the international border in order to help each grow.Jeff Olson, Falls High School Class of 1988 and owner of Dirty Knees Soap Co., spoke of returning to live and grow a business in his hometown.At graduation, he said he’d never have believed he would return to the Falls in his 50s.“And I never imagined I would attend a Pride March at Smokey Bear Park,” he said, adding it’s an indication of how far the community and world has come in those years since high school.“Pride is about celebrating diversity and inclusion,” he told the group.
