The Koochiching County Board Tuesday agreed to send a letter to a home care and hospice agency encouraging them to expand their services locally. The action comes after Fairview Range Home Care and Hospice ended services to about 30 clients at the end of March.Nancy Lee, a member of a local task force formed to brainstorm solutions, said Good Samaritan Society, under Sanford Home Care, has taken on some of the clients, but does not have adequate staff and does not offer hospice.Lee said the task force would meet later that day and expected Sanford leadership to attend.“We hope to entice Sanford to branch out to offer hospice,” she said.
