Essentia ranks among top clinical performers

Essentia Health continues to rank as one of the top performers across all clinical quality measures in Minnesota, according to the latest report from Minnesota Community Measurement, MNCM, a statewide resource for timely, comparable information on health care quality, costs and equity.Based on data analyzed by MNCM for care delivered in 2022, Essentia was ranked as a high performer — one of only seven organizations in the state to achieve this.

Local Elks members decided to use the funds to purchase items to give to the Koochiching County Veterans Service Office to help homeless veterans get settled in housing.Examples of items purchased are bed sheets, comforters, pillows, towels, dish sets, pots and pans, flatware, microwaves, vacuums, laundry and cleaning supplies.Elks members who did the shopping included Lynde Mettler, Elks Club manager, Brad Hopke, and Madison Sheridan.

Town ball, Rec exhibit

The Koochiching Museums is developing a new exhibition and needs help from the community.Since ‘town ball’ has been resurrected and a team will be playing in the coming summer months, museum staff thought it would be appropriate to break out local town ball memorabilia.“For the first time ever, we simply do not have enough things in our collection to make a complete exhibit, so we must turn to all of you,” said a plea in the Koochiching Museums newsletter.It provided a short list of items sought:• Trophies• Jerseys• Photographs• Sports equipment (baseball, football, hockey)• Outdoor sporting equipment• Posters• ProgramsIf you have other things that may be appropriate, call museum staff.
