The weather is warming, spring sports have started and it is time to think about spring reading. What do you want to read this season? Are you looking for quick, light-hearted reads or does the warming weather make you want to tackle something substantial and meaty? I’ve had years with both scenarios. I’m still trying to figure out what I want to read, while I read what I need to, to talk to students next month about summer reading. So, I am currently focused on reading titles for juveniles that I think would make good summer reading options.

Many people are dissatisfied with the soil in their garden. A lot of these people think their only option is a raised bed garden. This is fine and it is a fun way to garden, but if you want to can or freeze some produce to eat in the wintertime, it can be hard to get enough vegetables to put some away.
Border Bank and the local Knights of Columbus again teamed up to recognize the community’s assistance in their efforts to raise funds for the local food shelf, which is seeing rising and historic use these days.
The family took the subway downtown to a dance performance as a favor to the one dance fan in our midst and she thanked us for it afterward. “Thank you for indulging me, I really loved this,” she said. People ought to do that more often. Me, for one. My wife and daughter leave the apartment for hours, leaving me to work in silence. It seems awkward to say, “Thank you for going away,” so I don’t.
