IFalls Team 2 to compete at regions
The IFalls Team 2 Feb. 22 took home another first-place win at its Knowledge Bowl meet, finishing off the regular season. They once again reached a 100+ score and will move onto Regions on March 14. A top three placement at Regions would send IFalls Team 2 again onto the State meet, the ultimate goal for the seniors on the team.

Birch Buyers MN opens yard in Big Falls
Birch Buyers MN started 2023 by adding a location in Big Falls, its third behind Deer River and Embarrass. Loren Mathison opened the Big Falls site at 112 South Highway 71.

“Chester” is a male tan and black tabby. He is about 4-5 years old and weighs 11.5 pounds.
CO Reports
District 5 - Eveleth area Monday CO Darrin Kittelson (International Falls #1) spent time monitoring fishing activity at the annual Rainy Lake Sportfishing Club Family Fishing Derby. Small amounts of recent snowfall have helped keep local snowmobile trails in excellent shape. People are reminded that when the time comes for fish shelter removal from area lakes, debris and litter should also be taken.
Coach: Wrestlers show improvement
Borderland Mustang wrestlers brought home medals from two recent tournaments. In Fertile, two silver and one bronze medal were earned, and in Proctor, two gold, three bronze and three fourth-place finishes, coach Jeremy Mann reported.
Duller Days
NEARLY NORTH OF TWO We’re past the middle of February and times seem to have gotten a little dull around here. Not much for big news it seems, but closer look at last couple weeks reveals much more… Recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have killed a reported nearly 45,000 humans.
Bronco hockey
The International Falls boys hockey team competed Feb. 21 in the Section 7A quarterfinals, with a loss against Rock Ridge, 9-0.
Nominations open for chamber awards
Nominations are open for the International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce recognition of citizen, large business and small business of the year, and the Chamber Pillar Award. The awards will be celebrated and presented at an awards banquet and gala Thursday, April 27, at the Thunderbird Lodge.
