Annual speed run Saturday

Ever wonder how fast your sled can go? You can find out Saturday when the International Voyageurs Snowmobile Club raises money to help local people cancer treatments transportation costs with its 14th Annual Falls International Speed Run Against Cancer. The club teams up with Thunderbird Lodge for the event, which runs from noon to 3 p.m.

Milo S. Larson 86, of International Falls, Minnesota, died on February 7, 2023, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth MN.

Rainy River men

The Voyageur men had to rally from a halftime deficit to pick up a win over Mesabi Range. Trailing by 3 at the half, Rainy River won 69-65 as Malik Siggers had 25 points and Tyrecke Francois 18 to lead the way as both made five 3-pointers in the contest.

Books donated

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary to Post 2948 purchased books for the local school libraries for the third year. The books are given in honor of Jean Hamil, 2021-2022 national president of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
