New RLMC executive brings knowledge, expertise

Rainy Lake Medical Center officials announce the hire of Kelly Hagen as the organization’s new chief nursing officer, or CNO. Hagen comes to RLMC with more than 40 years of experience as a nurse in palliative, med/surg, orthopedic, ICU and open heart and cardiac care as well as nursing leadership.

VWP: Increased pup survival

The first Voyageurs Wolf Project newsletter released this month includes key findings from this year’s wolf pack and population size survey and report, indicating an increase in density, likely due to increased pup survival.

Duane Leland Mitchell

Duane Leland Mitchell, 90, of Int’l Falls, MN passed away on November 14, 2022 at St Luke’s Hospital in Duluth MN. Duane was born on February 13, 1932 in Ruthton, MN to Helen and Ira Mitchell. He attended school in Ortonville, MN where he graduated in 1950. Duane was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1952. He attended school for court reporting and was working at the Federal Reserve in Minneapolis where he met the love of his life Marilyn. He and Marilyn were married on June 5, 1954 and moved to Int’l Falls in 1961, where he was a district and Koochiching County court reporter in Int’l Falls for 40 years.
