The fungus among us

This year’s beautiful summer with regular rain has been good for my garden. Plants are healthy and growing well, though some of the heat-loving plants have wished for warmer nights. The past week’s warm temperatures really gave the tomatoes and squash a boost.

Donna M. Mostad passed away 7/20/2022 at Broadwater Health Center, Townsend, MT. She was born 2/18/1935 to Meta and Russell A. Wilson in Hartley, IA. She grew up in International Falls, MN and graduated from Falls High School in 1953.

Margaret “Peggy” Mary Frykman, 77, of International Falls, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls. Peggy was born on November 4, 1944 in International Falls to parents, Marvin and Nellie (Douglas) Bolstad.

RLMC culture attracts new hire

Rainy Lake Medical Center’s culture is what attracted its new director of imaging. Melanie Britten, who has a long history in healthcare, said after taking a temporary hiatus from the industry, she was looking for more than just a job when she began searching for the next step in her life.
