Floyd left home at 7 a.m. in a canoe on its maiden voyage up to their Marsh Lake Cabin 14 miles away to meet his brother Frank. On the way he checked traps and picked up 18 beaver and at least 40 muskrats. He skinned nine of the beaver on the riverbank. He testified that it took him about nine minutes to skin a medium sized beaver and about 15 minutes for a large one.

Last week a special Congressional House of Representatives investigative “Select Committee” presented its introduction to its more comprehensive reporting expected in about a half-dozen additional televised presentations beginning this week. According to some recognized national thinkers, this stuff is bigger than 1973’s Watergate hearings.

It’s been windy for the better part of a week. The days that were calm, I took advantage of fishing for walleyes and caught them in 17- and 31-foot depths.
The most overlooked vegetable that I know of is Kohlrabi. I seldom see it on the seed racks of our local stores so you will probably have to look for it in seed catalogs. Lucky for us, seed catalogs are all on-line.
