2022 derby day

Mother Nature smiled on Rainy Lake Saturday afternoon during the Rainy Lake Sportfishing Club’s annual derby. With a respite from the frigid temperatures, angling to benefit the Rainy Lake resources drew many to the ice for fishing, fun, food and friends. RLSC leaders report 50 perch, 29 walleye, 7 northern and 32 white fish or tullibee brought to the derby circle.

Band recognized

The Falls High Band Monday earned a superior rating for its full band performance at the Section 7A Music Contest in Virginia. The superior rating was awarded by all three judges.

Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry reopens March 14

After cancelling the food sharing program in December through February for a time of reflection and reorganization, International Falls Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry will restart at 5 p.m. March 14 its second Monday of the month food distribution program at the Backus Community Center.
