‘Poles & Purses’ supports scholarships

A new event will continue a long tradition of raising funds to help support local students with scholarships to the local community college. “Poles & Purses” on June 16 is the 23rd annual social event that will raises money for student scholarships to Minnesota North College – Rainy River Campus.

IBRT performs radio mystery

The Icebox Radio Theater will conclude its spring season at the Salty Jester in International Falls on Friday, June 9, with an evening of classic mystery and comedy. For the first time, the troupe will recreate an episode of “Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar” a mystery series that ran from 1949 to 1962 on the CBS radio network.

Dean’s list

Two International Falls students were among the more than 160 students attending spring semester at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College who achieved high academic standing and earned dean’s list honors.

ATV riders: Explore for free

Riders with an all-terrain vehicle registered for private or agricultural use won’t need to pay the registration fee to ride the state’s public ATV trails June 10-11, reports the Department of Natural Resources.

‘Take a Kid Fishing’ this weekend
