Active flooding in northern Minnesota is expected in the next week or two, as warm temperatures and rain are forecast while a lot of wet snow remains on the ground. Officials have been preparing by lowering area water levels, and updating the public for the last few weeks with regular briefings about flood risk.
Borderland Mustang wrestler Aaron Freeberg recently took part in Northland Youth Wrestling Association regional tournament in Bemidji. Aaron had a 16-man bracket, and started out strong with a pin to advance in the championship side, reports coach Jeremy Mann.
Jessica Louise (Harris) Goodrum, 38 years of age, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 2, 2023, along with her husband, Kristofer Goodrum, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Jessica was born February 2, 1985, in Waco, Texas to Patrick Harris and Clair (Brown) May. She grew up and attended school in Midland, Texas, where she obtained her GED. Jessica married John Morris and they had three daughters together. In December 2021 Jessica married Kristofer Goodrum and they made their home in Midland, Texas.

Daniel James Spotts, passed away on April 2, 2023, at the age of 64 at his home inInternational Falls, MN, after his brief but difficult battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1959 in Hibbing, MN, the son of Gerald & Barbara (Toscano) Spotts.
Gary E. Readman was born in Littlefork, MN on August 1, 1938, to William “Ed” and Clara (Klippness) Readman. Gary grew up in International Falls, MN and graduated from Falls Senior High School in 1956. He passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Falls Elementary School staff and students celebrated their preparations for the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments that take place in grades 3-5 at FES. Staff, and the Bronco cheerleaders, held a MCA Pepfest last week, with the teachers offering a dance surprise for the students.
