BRIAN JOHN HALL

Brian John Hall, 63, of Superior, WI died after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

ERNIE (ERNEST) P. ROUSSEAU

Ernie (Ernest) P. Rousseau, age 67, passed away March 14, 2023 surrounded by friends and family. Ernie was a 1973 graduate of International Falls High School. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernie and Jeanne Rousseau, brother David, and sister Julie. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shari, son Ryan (wife Charlotte), grandchildren Grace and Elliot, brother Bob Rousseau, sisters Peggy Larson, Paula Gaffaney, and Teresa Rousseau. Celebration of life will be 2 pm March 29, 2023 at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., visitation 1 hour prior.

JAMES EDWARD GRAHAM

James Edward Graham, a resident of Nodine, Minnesota, passed away on March 9, 2023, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Jim courageously faced the challenges of the disease for nearly 24 years, which he contracted during his time of service in the Navy in Vietnam. His family announces his passing with great sorrow, yet bittersweet gratitude, as they find solace in knowing that he no longer suffers.

ALAN GERALD JENSEN

Al Jensen passed away in International Falls on March 12, 2023, at the age of 58. Al was born and raised in Inver GroveHeights, and part of the class of 1982. He spent much of his adult life in International Falls, Minnesota with his wife; who was the love of his life and their 3 children. Al was an important part of the community where he ran his optical business with his partner Doc, for 25 years. He also provided rental housing to many tenants for over 20 years.

ABOUT HISTORY In May of 1987, these folks were well-seasoned and all of similar vintage, and reminisced and tested their memories while ruminating about what befell them. Glen remembered when as a youth living on the banks of the Rainy River; each spring he would sit on the banks of the river and watch the ice go out.

Sunday Boy Scout food drive

Koochiching County Food Access is well on its way to its goal of raising $10,000 during this year’s March Food-Share. As of March 20, we have raised a little over $6,000.

First gull

Tom Kantos reported the first gull on Rainy River at 5 p.m. March 8, reports his daughter Kallie Kantos. The sighting was ahead of the traditional return of the gulls on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday. Local folklore calls for three more snow storms after the first gull sightings.

Bronco Hall induction ceremony planned

Final details are being planned for the induction ceremony for the 2023 Class of the Bronco Hall of Fame. To be inducted this year are Tony Curran, Gary Davison, Jeff Lindvahl, and Dan Mahle on the individual level along with the 1964 State Champion Hockey Team and the 1972 State Champion Hockey team, reports Falls School Superintendent Kevin Grover.
