Menards partners with Salvation Army
Menards of International Falls will join with other Menards stores across the United States to serve as a drop site for a toy drive that will benefit local children.Locally, Menards had partnered with The Salvation Army, whose staff and volunteers will collect the toys at the ed of the drive and distribute them to local children in need of a brighter Christmas, reported James McNeill, general manager of the International Falls store.In addition, people may continue a growing tradition of more than 50 years by visiting Menards “Enchanted Forest” to experience the decorated trees, colorful lights and displays.

University of Minnesota Extension will present the Timber Management & Taxation School designed to provide tax professionals, foresters, logging contractors, landowners, agricultural lenders, and farm management instructors with up-to-date information on federal tax treatment of income and expenses associated with the sale of timber.The workshop will be 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov.

Change of CVB leadership
The International Falls, Ranier & Rainy Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau will see a change in its executive director, whose aim is to continue to promote Borderland.Delaney Roshell, who has served in the executive director position for the last three years, has stepped away from the role as of the end of September to take on a new challenge.Taking the lead is Katrina Heibel, who brings with her a variety of experiences.Roshell said she’s been grateful for the experience “promoting the unique beauty and attractions of our area… While I am sad to leave the CVB, I look forward to continuing to invest in and contribute to the growth of our local community.”Roshell, and her husband Matt say they are excited to embark on a new chapter in their lives, opening a home decor and gift shop in the “It’s a Girl Thing” building, located south on Highway 53.
