Last week at the Rotary Club of International Falls Club meeting, member Angie Noyes invited the Rainy Lake Medical Center Decontamination, DECON, Team to present.Brian Tolley, physical therapist, presented alongside Christian Nelson, informatics specialist, and Margaret Hyatt, RLMC director of environmental services and facilities regulation.Tolley explained the role of the DECON team was to ensure the safety of patients and staff at the hospital in the event of a chemical spill, chemical explosion, or certain biological materials.

Last week at the Rotary Club of International Falls Club meeting, Randy Pozniak, club treasurer, spoke about the Border Lakes Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to monitoring water levels in the Rainy Lake and Kabetogama watersheds.Pozniak detailed how the association was formed as a direct result of the flooding that occurred in 1950.

Ninth postmaster for IFalls USPS
Renee Lunzer was sworn in last week as the ninth postmaster of the International Falls Post Office since 1947.She’s worked for the United States Postal Service for 5 years, with training to for the Falls postmaster position at Walker, Hackensack, Washkish and Littlefork.
