The Koochiching Museums is developing a new exhibition and needs help from the community.Since ‘town ball’ has been resurrected and a team will be playing in the coming summer months, museum staff thought it would be appropriate to break out local town ball memorabilia.“For the first time ever, we simply do not have enough things in our collection to make a complete exhibit, so we must turn to all of you,” said a plea in the Koochiching Museums newsletter.It provided a short list of items sought:• Trophies• Jerseys• Photographs• Sports equipment (baseball, football, hockey)• Outdoor sporting equipment• Posters• ProgramsIf you have other things that may be appropriate, call museum staff.
The Arc Minnesota announces a new grant program called the Minnesota Inclusion Initiative, or MII, aimed at making Minnesota more inclusive for all.The grant, through funding from the state Department of Human Services, will award groups and organizations up to $5,000 for projects aimed at improving inclusion in Minnesota for people with disabilities.“Inclusion projects help to build and strengthen community with Minnesotans who have disabilities,” said MII program manager Marais Wakem.
