Businesses team up to help families

An effort to provide families with beds, and another that helps local kids have toys for Christmas wouldn’t happen without Borderland partnerships.These are just examples of how Borderland comes together to help one another.Toy driveKGHS/KSDM Radio and RJ Broadcasting has for years teamed up with the Falls Fire Department in a unique effort that provides toys to be distributed to local children by the Salvation Army.Jennifer “JJ” McBride said every toy brought into the radio station gets the person bringing it in an entry to win prizes donated by the International Falls Fire/Rescue/ EMS.The drive starts in mid-November and ends before now, but toys can still be dropped off at the Salvation Army.McBride said the partnership has helped make the annual toy drive more successful every year and “so amazing for kids in our community.”“Our community is amazing,” she added about the number of toys donated.
