Lessons on humanity

Thousands of small orange and purple ribbons are tied to the fence between the Falls High School track and Highway 11-71. The orange ribbons represent the more than 7,000 people who are affected by hunger and the purple, the 288 people known to experience homelessness in Koochiching County.

15 years ago The Evangelical Covenant Church would like to thank the community for generously supporting and attending the Backus/AB Roof Fundraiser held November 13. 15 years ago After an 8-and-0 regular season and a 3-0 run through the Section 7 Tournament, the Littlefork-Big Falls Viking football team entered the quarterfinals of the Minnesota 9-Man State Tournament in Duluth on Friday with a perfect record. That record was ended with a 12-6 loss to the Waubun Bombers at Public School Stadium. “I am proud of our guys,” said Vikings head coach Derek Bilben. “They did everything I asked all year.” Community members cheered on the team at a pre-game pep fest at the school, and the team bus was escorted out of town by the Koochiching County Sheriff’s Department and the Littlefork Fire Department.
