The International Falls Knowledge Bowl Team placed third at the Regional Tournament Monday in Mountain Iron Buhl which means that the team of Ellen Windels, Nora Sullivan, Emma Saxton, and Jakob Clifford have qualified for the state meet in April.

FES Birthday Bookshelf

February members have been added to the Birthday Bookshelf Club to assist the book fund at Falls Elementary School. It is the middle of March and that means it is time to start seeds indoors that you want to transplant into a garden bed in late May or early June. The library has again ordered seeds to share with the community. If you would like to plant just a small garden with a few seeds of a variety of plants then the library can help. Stop by and fill out a form indicating which seeds you’d like to plant and a staff member will pull together a couple of seeds of each item selected. We are also planning to start our own starts and hopefully be able to share those as well depending on how they grow.

Read magazines, ebooks, articles, cereal boxes, or listen to audiobooks in whatever genre suits you whether romance, thriller, science fiction, realism, historical, and non-fiction in everything from self-help to biographies to sports.

Knowledge Bowl advances

The International Falls High School Knowledge Bowl team had its best showing of the season Wednesday, March 2, placing second out of 20 teams. The team of Ellen Windels, Emma Saxton, Nora Sullivan and Jakob Clifford came out strong again in the written round, just two points off the lead.

Indus: ‘U-Rock’

The Indus School student council recently was awarded the “U-Rock” award at the Northeast Division of Student Councils meeting. The recognition was for raising the most money and pounds of food per student among the schools in the region, as part of the council’s state service project.
