Minnesota 4-H held the Northeast Region BLU and TEEL leadership workshops on Feb. 5-6 at Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade for 33 youth from across our region.
Jaime Sjoblom is the new Adult Basic Education teacher with Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency. The core part of the role is to provide services to those interested in earning their GED or adult diplomas, however Sjoblom also offer services in other areas that Minnesota residents may need: developing skills such as financial literacy, computer basics, study/research/reporting skills, English language, etc.

The Rainy River Community College’s dean’s list for fall semester 2021 has been announced by Director of Operations Bradley Krasaway. Students who receive this honor earned a grade point average of 3.25 or higher for the semester in college courses and carried at least 12 credits.

The first month of 2022 is almost over. I am enjoying not walking home in the dark as we gain more light each day. But the weather is still cold and I like nothing better than curling up in the eveings under a blanket and a cat or two and reading, knitting and or playing games. So, I was very excited to get the book The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Matsukawa. It is a fantastical tale about a cat who demands the new owner of a secondhand bookstore help him save books from neglectful owners. A fun quick read for book lovers of all stripes.
