FHS Elks students of the month

STAFF REPORTThe International Falls School Board and Elks Lodge 1599 recently recognized recently acknowledged the November Elks Students of the Month: Torin Thompson and Cooper Crandall.The following information about the students has been provided by Lisa West, Falls High School principal.Torin ThomsponTorin Thompson is the kind of student that stands out not just for his athletic abilities but also for his character, wrote instructor Karla Line.He is model of consistency and excellence, she added, noting as an athlete, Torin excels in everything he puts his mind to on the field, demonstrating natural talent and a strong work ethic.“What truly sets Torin apart is his demeanor,” Line continued.

Yount performs in St. Peter

STAFF REPORTGavia Yount, 26, from International Falls, performed the play “Our Town” at Gustavus Adolphus College earlier this month.Yount is majoring in English and philosophy and is playing the role of Emily Webb in the production.“In a year of noise, ‘Our Town’ offers a quiet meditation: on growing up and marrying and living and dying,” college staff said in a new statement.
