Minnesota North College Rainy River will celebrated graduation Friday.Of the graduates at Rainy River, 69 will receive awards and 123 will receive certificates.Mike Raich, Minnesota North College president providing the commencement address and the conferring of degrees, with Allen Rasmussen speaking on behalf of the Rainy River Community College Foundation, and congratulating graduates.
The Littlefork-Big Falls School Board recently recognized the students of the month for April 2024.Dominick Juen, whose parents are Jake and Heather Juen, is April student of the month for senior high, and Esther Zastavskiy, whose parents are Pavel and Dina Zastavskiy, for junior high, reports Kathy Siltman, L-BF High School secretary.

Falls Elementary students last week got a chance to see for themselves what Smokey Bear and his fight against wildfires is all about.On Friday, members of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources talked about fire with students, who then got their picture taken with Smokey Bear.The students also went outside to see and experience some of the equipment the DNR staff use to fight wildland fires.
