The saying “Many hands make for light work” has been proved in the last two weeks by International Falls Rotary Club members and volunteers. Rotarian Jeff Hardwig and a few others in the community are sure the saying comes from pine cone pickers – specifically, black spruce cone pickers.
With weather forecasts this week for Borderland showing less precipitation than elsewhere in northern Minnesota, risks for flooding may be lessening. But that could change should the area receive more precipitation, and residents where were flooding has occurred before should take actions now to minimize damage should flooding occur.
