County election

Newcomer Adam McIntyre will take the Koochiching County Commissioner District 3 seat after drawing 74 votes Tuesday to Brian McBride’s 34 votes in a special election. The election drew a total of 108 votes from county residents in the district, which covers people in the International Falls East Ward and the Ranier-West Precinct.

Indus School closure hearing draws many

A semi-truck parked at the entry to the Indus School Monday gave an indication of the amount of support that would be inside to urge reconsideration of action by the South Koochiching-Rainy River School Board to close the school. The support is also shown along the highway with dozens of “Save Our School” signs posted a residences along Highway 11.

Fraud classes

The Senior LinkAge Line will offer two classes covering health care fraud, waste and abuse prevention on April 12 from 10-11:30 a.m. and again from 2-3:30 p.m.

Water level targets adjusted
