April 8, 1943 February 5, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Jean Toninato, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, after her hard-fought battle with cancer and all the many complications that went with that for the past 27 years. Marge passed away peacefully with her daughter Terri and niece Donna by her side.

Gloria Reuter, 96, was born June 20, 1926, in Cloquet, Minnesota to Fred McBride and Lydia Roberson. She died February 6, 2023 in International Falls.

Gordon E. Piekarski, 82, of International Falls, Minnesota, died on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls. Gordon was born April 18, 1940 in International Falls to Andrew Henry and Gladys (Collum) Piekarski.

Michael ”Mike” Svien, former resident of International Falls, Minnesota, passed away on December 28, 2022, at his home in Hastings, Minnesota. He was born on April 1, 1953.

January 10, 1959 January 24, 2023 Daniel L. Guerard 64, of Birchdale, Minnesota, died January 24, 2023. He was born on January 10, 1959, in Austin, MN, the son of Lyle and Norena (Johnson) Guerard. He graduated from Shattuck in 1977 and was on the 1975 State Curling Champion Team. He also golfed, bowled, played hockey and softball, and was on the Crack Squad/ Drill Team.

Quinn Patrick McCarthy Quinn Patrick McCarthy died January 20, 2023, at the Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, Minnesota He was born on Septemb er 22, 1964, in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Patrick and Claudia (Lodl) McCarthy. He grew up primarily in Menominee Falls, WI.

Doug Thydean, age 68, of Littlefork, MN, passed away, Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
