The weather is warming, spring sports have started and it is time to think about spring reading. What do you want to read this season? Are you looking for quick, light-hearted reads or does the warming weather make you want to tackle something substantial and meaty? I’ve had years with both scenarios. I’m still trying to figure out what I want to read, while I read what I need to, to talk to students next month about summer reading. So, I am currently focused on reading titles for juveniles that I think would make good summer reading options.

Minnesota’s lake country is a long way from Manchester, England and the soccer fields here in northern Minnesota are a long way from Old Trafford, one of the fields where The Olde Englishman had managed clashes amongst titan soccer clubs the likes of Manchester United and others.I met the Olde Englishman not by intention but simply because we were both hired to officiate a soccer match here in Minnesota’s north country.
