Polka promotion
Recent wheelchair adventure with broken leg meant increased TV time. PBS channel surfing found Lawrence Welk and Funtime Polka Party reruns. Participants all resembled ourselves at various times over the years, especially Polka dancers and current old timers. Something about that Old Tyme Music, preceding Rock & Roll during upbringing in Minnesota River Valley hometown, seems to bring increased happiness and joy into life. Neuropathy has long ended dancehall Polka adventure here, but happiness and joy still increase with its music.
Movement Improvement

Wonderful West Virginia
Majestic Pines, comprehensive senior living facility at dandy Mississippi’s once-grand rapids, includes a rather impressive library. Hard cover and paperback book donations are supplemented with numerous magazines. Recently discovered magazine, “Wonderful West Virginia”, stirred fond memories of early family, career and outdoor experiences in new Appalachian Mountains.
Spring’s things
Calendars are now rattling around mid-April, normally about time for Northland Winter to show major signs of letting go. Recent signs of “Spring’s Things” confirm calendar’s rattling call.
Address Adjustment
Blame procrastination; unwelcome job has now come due. Changing one’s mailing address is now a confusing, tedious and frustrating chore—more than former mere “Address Adjustment.”
Awesome Adventures
Thoughtful gift recently arrived for this wheelchair captive, ex-adventurer from old friend and co-employee at former Boise Cascade Corporation. Mary sent 1996 Steven Ambrose book, “Undaunted Courage,” reporting “Awesome Adventures” experienced by Captain Meriwether Lewis during his outdoor and political career with whiffs of danger.
