In Minnesota’s Nature
Memory can’t recall when this fine city at once-grand rapids of dandy Mississippi, on The Edge of the Wilderness, adopted its community slogan: “GRAND RAPIDS---It’s In Minnesota’s Nature.” But we’ve liked it since day one in 1979, spending summer weeks then months at Bass Lake’s old Idaho Avenue cabin address, downsizing from Idaho’s Snake River and relocating to Grand Rapids as our newly adopted hometown in 2018—another in a series of impressive papermill towns since 1967.This family has always been tuned in to outdoor adventure, focusing on hunter-gatherer outings spiced with woods, waters, mountains and such.
