Summer reading is underway! I hope you stopped by the library this week and attended a program, made sure everyone in the family had a reading log and borrowed enough books for everyone to get started reading this summer. If not, there is still plenty of time to participate this summer.

A bad play IDs a good life

I had my first bratwurst of the year Friday evening, during a thunderstorm on 48th Street and Seventh Avenue, heading for a play, rain pouring down, the Broadway marquees lit up, billboards flashing, lightning overhead, and I stopped at a hot dog stand on the sidewalk, my sweetie holding an umbrella over my head, eight bucks for the brat.

Timing is everything

We grieve with the Borderland community over the decision by the ISD 363 School Board last week to close the Indus School July 1. While we understand the facts and figures behind the recommendation for closure, we’d hoped the board would have taken the hearing judge’s idea that they could take action to close the school at a time of their discretion and voted for July 1, 2024.
