Birchdale, or the end of the rainbow as Capt. Mike Hanson calls it, has some extra folks now, as Rainy River is again accessible for the early walleye and catch-and-release lake sturgeon seasons. If you plan to fish from Nelson’s Landing, be prepared for a walk, or as some have done, a bike ride, from your parked vehicle and the landing.
