The Littlefork-Big Falls Viking volleyball team was at Mountain Iron-Buhl High School Monday when they battled the Rangers in a 5-set loss (24-26, 25-20, 26-24, 23-25, 16-14).Anissa Wimmer led the charge for the Vikings getting 17 kills, 6 ace serves, and 21 digs; Megan Galusha pitched in with 9 kills, 6 ace serves, and 23 digs; Ellie Wendt had 8 kills, 3 ace serves, and 23 digs.

Rainy River wins at home

Minnesota North College - Rainy River Voyageurs volleyball team took a dominant sweep in their home opener against conference opponent Minnesota North-Vermillion.The Voyageurs won the three sets 25-13, 25-19, and 25-11.This year’s Voyageurs squad consists of five international players representing Serbia, the Netherlands, Turkey, Mexico and Italy, alongside a mix of girls from out of state and some homegrown talent such as Destiny Piekarski, Kaden Korpi, and Hattie Ulrich.The Voyageurs played Minnesota North -Hibbing Wednesday, results of which were unavailable for this publication.Coming upSept.
