Debora ‘Debbie’ Joy Hauner

Debara “Debbie” Joy Hauner, 71, of Littlefork, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family.

Debbie was bom on August 19, 1950 in Litchfield, MN.

Debbie grew up in Bloomington, MN and attended Bloomington-Lincoln High School until the winter of 1966. In 1966, Debbie’s eleventh grade year, her father moved the family to Littlefork. Debbie graduated from Littlefork-Big Falls High School in May of 1968.

She married Richard Hauner on September of 1968. Mom worked different jobs throughout the years to help support her family including Boise Cascade-Big Falls, and the Littlefork Liquor Store. She attended RRCC, taking the nursing program, though shortly before graduation she went to work at Boise Cascade-International Falls until her retirement in 2003.

Mom loved her family and spending time with them. She had a constant companion in her granddaughter Kayci. In the summer months she loved spending time outdoors, mowing her yard or tending to her flowers. Mom had a love for animals. She even fed an orphaned bear cub one summer, despite her extreme fear of bears. She enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steel. Mom loved crossword puzzles and never passed up a trip to the casino. She had a sense of humor and a giggle that many of her friends and family will never forget. She will forever be loved and missed by family and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by parents, Lane and Phyllis (Lund) Carter; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Eva Hauner; brother, Lance Carter; sister, Cindy Carter; and black lab, Herman Schwartz.

She is survived by her husband Richard; son, David Hauner; daughter, Maria Hauner, all of Littlefork. Debbie is also survived by grandchildren, Kayci Stiles, and Cole (Gina) Stiles of Littlefork; one greatgrandchild, Clayton Stiles; brothers, Gary (Judy) Carter of the Twin Cities, Larry (Kathy) Carter of Coral Gables, FL, Mike Carter of Monticello, MN, Rob (Kelly) Carter of Monticello, MN; sisters, Nancy (John) Siebenand of CA, Lisa (Bob) Lapatka of Willmar, MN; several nieces and nephews; and puppies, Pete and Bella.

Per Debara’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
