Evette Alene (Silvers) Newman

Evette Alene (Silvers) Newman was born August 28th. 1951 in International Falls, Minnesota to Ernie and Anita (Steele) Silvers.

She attended Falls High School. She worked at Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck for a time before leaving to become a full-time homemaker.

Evette was a kind, gentle soul who was loved by everyone who knew her. She was so appreciative of the smallest thing you did for her.

She enjoyed watching Shark Week and every cooking show she could find and then cooking large meals for her family. She was especially  known for her rice hot dish and fried chicken dinners.                    

In the words of her Grandson Jayden: “My Grandma was the nicest person I’ve ever met. I will miss her the rest of my life. She would help anyone who was sad.”

Evette suffered from migraines all of her adult life. and though life wasn’t always easy for her, she never lost her faith in God or the love she had for Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and Roger Silvers; one son, Mike (Sharon) Newman; and one niece and two nephews, Mary Elizabeth, Matthew Silvers, and Ernie Silvers.

She is survived by her brothers, Mike (Melody) Silvers, Paul Silvers, Kevin (Kim) Silvers, Craig (Julie) Silvers, and Brian (Johanna) Silvers. She is also survived by sons, Jason (Lori) Graves, Jarrod Graves, Shawn (Michele) Newman, James Newman, and Ryan Newman. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and also numerous grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
